Maliki, Biden discuss latest regional updates

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, and the US Vice-President, Joseph Biden, discussed through a phone call, the latest regional updates and the means of developing bilateral relations on all levels.

A statement by Maliki’s office mentioned that “Maliki stressed the necessity of developing bilateral relations between the two sides according to the Strategic Framework Agreement,” confirming that “Iraq is going on to protect its borders to avoid violations for the policy of the Federal Government.”

“Biden welcomed the measures taken by the Federal Government to sustain security by protecting the borders,” the statement added.

“Biden also expressed his comfort concerning the success of the governmental policy to increase Iraqi oil exports to the global market,” the statement continued.

“Both sides agreed upon keeping on the dialogues over the issues of the mutual concerns,” the statement concluded.
