Awadi: Barzani behaves as if Kurdistan Region equals to Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Ihsan al-Awadi, of the State of Law Coalition criticized the “Policy of the President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani.”

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “Barzani started to behave as if Kurdistan Region is equal to Iraq,” noting that “Barzani’s tendency became away from the Federal government even in the foreign affairs.”

“He went on in expanding his disputes with the Federal Government concerning the foreign affairs policies and Iraq’s stances over the regional crises especially the Syria crisis,” he added.

“Barzani headed towards the opposite direction of the Federal Government concerning the Syrian crisis so he has to clarify the authorities of Kurdistan Region and the authorities of the Federal Government in this respect,” he continued.

“The visit of the Turkish Foreign Minister, Ahmed Davutoglu, to Kurdistan Region and then to Kirkuk is against Iraq’s interest,” he concluded.

It is worth mentioning that the relations between the Federal Government and Kurdistan Regional Government witnessed tensions recently.
