Najaf’s share of electricity increased

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Abud al-Isawi, of Najaf province, assured that Najaf’s share of electricity power has been increased with 50 MW.

He reported in a press statement to IraqiNews.com that ”The Electricity Minister Abdul Kareem Aftan met a delegation that comprised MPs, elders and sheikhs of Najaf province and approved to grant exceptional share of electricity to Najaf province,” noting that “Najaf province will be supplied by (295 MW) rather than (245 MW).”

The statement pointed out that ”Najaf province suffers from many electricity programmed cut off which is just not accepted for such important province since thousands of people visits it, without counting days of religious events,” stressing that ”This increment in the electricity power will contribute in solving the electricity problem.”

MP, Abdul Hussein Abtan, of Najaf province declared, in press conference held in the Parliament, that Najaf Provincial Council will file a lawsuit against the Deputy Prime Minister Hussein al-Shahrestani and the Electricity Minister Abdul Kareem Aftan.
