Baghdad(IraqiNews.com) MP, Ashwaq al-Jaf, of the Kurdistani Alliance criticized describing the Pishmirga elements as being “Unorganized”.

In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com, she said “The Pishmirga elements secured the areas that they are protecting since 2003 where they could protect the families there.”

“Everyone describe the Pishmirga as being unorganized, have to re-consider his opinion,” she added, noting that “The parliament voted on the Federal budget and the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, who approved allocating the salaries for them and providing them with the weapons in cooperation with Kurdistan Region Government, but this article of the budget was not applied yet.”

“The Pishmirga elements is a part of the national defense system as stated in the constitution where approving the allocations to the Pishmirga elements disproved those accusations,” she pointed out.

“The latest crisis between the central government andKurdistanRegion was due to departing some of the security forces from Nassiriya province to the areas protected by the Pishmirga elements since 2003,” she concluded.
