Nusayif calls Kuwait to compensate Iraq over selling four Iraqi oil tankers

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Aliya Nusayif, of the White bloc called Kuwait to compensate Iraq over selling four Iraqi oil tankers to unknown sides.

In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com on Monday, she said “The four oil tankers that belong to the Iraqi Oil Company and not South Oil Company, were confiscated by the Kuwait authorities during the second Gulf war and sold by Kuwait.”

“Kuwait has sold them without notifying the Iraqi government,” she added, assuring that “The Iraqi government has to request Kuwait to compensate it for selling those tankers according to the current prices.”

Earlier, Nusayif on the 5th of August, has requested Kuwait to bring these tankers back to the Iraqi Transportation Ministry after seizing them from the Kuwait Shia’aba Port in 1991. /End
