Gunmen wound Mosul medicine college dean

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: The dean of the Medicine College, Mosul University, was wounded in an attack by unidentified gunmen in the western part of the city on Sunday, the Mosul operations command’s media official said. “Unidentified gunmen in a civilian vehicle opened a volley of fire on Dr. Mozahem al-Khayyat, the dean of the medicine college in the University of Mosul, while heading for his work at the university’s medical center in al-Shifaa neighborhood, western Mosul, leaving him wounded,” the source told IraqiNews.com. Khayyat “has received two bullets in the abdomen and foot but his health condition is stable,” the source added. Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa province, lies 405 km north of Baghdad. AmR (P)/SR 1
