Dori calls government, UN to save Iraq from crisis of rivers’ water scarcity

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Reporter of the Agricultural and Water Parliamentary Committee, Itab al-Dori, called “The Iraqi government and the UN to save Iraq from the crisis of the scarcity of water in the rivers.”

In a press statement, she stressed “The necessity of forming the Supreme Council of Water in Iraq especially under the current scarcity of rivers water which the country suffers from.”

She called “The UN to take its role to settle this issue with the neighboring countries and to solve the disputes through holding impacts that oblige these countries to launch Iraq’s share of water.”

She emphasized “The lack of speed actions to be taken by the government or the UN will result in huge economic loses due to the dryness.”

Wend river suffers from the complete dryness because the Iranian sides blocked the water from coming to the Iraqi territories.
