2 killed, 8 wounded in 2nd Diala explosion

DIALA / IraqiNews.com: Two persons were killed and eight others were wounded in an explosive charge attack that targeted a police patrol vehicle in Diala’s al-Saadiya district, the second explosion to rock the city today. “On Tuesday morning, an improvised explosive device (IED) targeted a police patrol vehicle in al-Shaheed area, al-Saadiya district, killing a civilian and a policeman and wounding eight others, including three cops,” the head of the district, Sheikh Ahmed al-Zarkoushi, told IraqiNews.com. The wounded were taken to al-Saadiya Public Hospital, Zarkoushi noted. Earlier today, a roadside car bomb detonated in the district near an Iraqi army patrol vehicle, killing four patrolmen. Diala province, a mix of Sunnis and Shiites, extends to the northeast of Baghdad as far as the Iranian border. Its capital is Baaquba, 57 km northeast of Baghdad.
