Alwani criticizes Iraq’s hosting for International Conference over Palestinian Detainees

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Khalid Abdullah al-Alwani, of the Iraqiya Slate described “The issue of hosting the International Conference of Palestinian Prisoners and Detainees in the Israeli Prisons in Iraq as contradicted with the posture of Iraq where thousands of oppressed prisoners stay inside the jails.”

Alwani pointed out that “We welcome hosting this conference but at the same time we hope Iraq to address the file of human rights in Iraq first, before hosting such conferences.”

He noted that “The Premier, Nouri Maliki, himself has talked some days ago about huge violations in Iraq.”

Earlier, The Assistant Secretary General of Arab League for Palestine Affairs, Mohamed Subayh, has informed the AL that Iraq will host the International Conference for Palestinian Detainees, at the end of 2012 as it considered the current Chief for the Arab League.
