Zibari: Iraq supports demands of Syrian people to achieve right of self-determination

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Foreign Minister, Hoshyar Zibari, assured that the Iraqi stance is supporting the demands of the Syrian people to achieve the right of self-determination.

A statement by the Foreign Ministry received by IraqiNews.com cited “Iraq has participated in the consulting conference over Syria called for by the Islamic Republic of Iran where the Iraqi delegation was headed by Zibari and comprising the advisor of the National Security, Falih al-Fayadh, the head of the Arab Department, Dhiyaa al-Dabbas, the head of the Minister’s office, Hassan Swadi and the Iraqi ambassador to Iran, Mohhamed al-Sheikh.”

“Iraq has shown its stance over the Syrian situation and the efforts that it is doing in order to achieve the peaceful settlement to the crisis there, expressing support to the UN’s initiative to assign Kofi Annan as a special representative to the Secretary General of the United Nations. Ban Ki-moon,” the statement added.

“Zibari stated that Iraqi stance is one and we showed it in Tehran and will show it everywhere, assuring that “Iraq always supports the demands of the Syrian people and work to make them achieve the right of self-determination,” the statement concluded.
