Shimmery expects changes on Iraqi political map

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Kadhim al-Shimmery of the White Bloc predicted that “The coming days will witness the formation of new coalitions to comprise a number of political blocs and that will change the political map in the country.”

He told Iraqi News that, “We will see in the coming days new coalitions to contain a number of political blocs that could be Sunni, Shiite and Kurdish, to prepare for the merits of the upcoming elections.”

MP Shimmery said that “Recently, after the end of the crisis related to the withdrawal of confidence from the Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, the movements of the heads of the blocs succeeded to return the deputy PM Salih al-Mutleg to his post, and also resulted in a convergence to form new political coalitions.”

The Secretary-General of the White Bloc Jamal al-Batiekh has announced the existence of a political move to form a new national stream to include the blocs which have seceded from the Iraqiya Slate, expecting to name this new bloc as “Patriotic Decision Trend or the Patriotic Movement.”
