Shalah: Maliki not informed about Kurdistan RegionG armament deal

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Ali al-Shalah, of the State of Law Coalition pointed out that “The Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, does not have any information about the armament deals concluded by Kurdistani Regional Government.”

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “Maliki did not sign any order in this regard,” noting that “Such deal is not constitutional.”

“Importing weapons by Kurdistan RegionG is totally rejected by the Constitution which authorized only the Federal Government to buy weapons for the Iraqi Federal Army rather than for the provinces,” he concluded.

Earlier, media reports mentioned that Kurdistan RegionG concluded a deal to buy heavy weapons for Pishmirga without notifying the Federal Government about this issue.
