Saad calls to grant people financial allowances on Eid al-Fitr occasion
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The leader within the Fadhila Parliamentary Bloc within the Iraqi National Alliance, MP Suzan al-Saad, stressed that “Most of the Iraqi people hope from the Government to grant them financial allowances on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, since 23% of them live under the poverty line.”
She reiterated in a press conference her call upon the Cabinet and the local governments to adopt the subject of these financial aids which will help meeting the citizens’ necessary needs, particularly the poor families, to please all on this holy occasion.”
MP Saad argued “Distributing these grants is among the simple rights of the people because they suffered for a long time from unemployment and rising prices of food stuff which coincided with the lack of the Ration Card’s items that led to the deterioration of the standards of living for most of the citizens.”
“The former governments have adopted similar initiatives when the first government granted $40 per each family on the Eid occasion while the second government paid IQD 150 per each family but this government for two terms has not paid anything for Iraqi families,” Saad concluded.
