40 donums distributed to set up industrial zone in Arbil

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: The mayor of Kowiyah district has distributed 40 donums on craftsmen and professionals to set up an industrial zone in the district, the director of the Kowiyah municipality said on Thursday. “The plan is to establish commercial store, laboratories, workshops and garages,” Araz Howaizi told IraqiNews.com. Kowiyah is a well-known touristic area in Iraq and is located 73 km southeastern of Arbil. Arbil, also written Erbil or Irbil , is believed to be one of the oldest continuously inhabited in the world and is one of the largest cities in Iraq . The city lies eighty kilometers (fifty miles) east of Mosul . In 2005, its estimated population was 990,000 inhabitants. The city is the capital of the autonomous Iraqi Kurdistan region and the Kurdistan Regional Government Kurdistan RegionG). It hosts the headquarters of the Kurdistan region ministers and parliament.
