Kartani rules out settling political crisis by Talabani

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Hamza al-Kartani of the Iraqiya Slate expected that “The confidence may be withdrawn from the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, if the political crisis is not settled.”

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “The current crisis is complicated and cannot be settled by the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki.”

“I am not optimistic over the seriousness of the political sides in settling the political crisis due to the lack of confidence among them and there are no real intentions to settle the crisis that lasted for eight months,” he added, noting that “The atmosphere necessary to settle the political crisis is not provided yet.”

“The crisis cannot be settled even by the national meeting and the evidence is that the US Vice-President, Joseph Biden, attempted to end the disputes through a phone call with the PM Maliki, but he failed,” he pointed out.

“The tensions between the central government and Kurdistan Region are increasing daily especially in the regional change in Syria and its effects on Iraq,” he concluded.
