Karbala (IraqiNews.com) The Provincial Council of Karbala province submitted a request to hold the next session of the Council of Ministers in Karbala to discuss the situation in the province.

The Deputy Chairman of Karbala PC, Nusaiyf Jasim, stated to IraqiNews.com “The Provincial Council of Karbala plans to submit a request on early September to demand for holding the next session of the CoM in Karbala to discuss a number of issues, most notably, the financial allocations for the province and the topic of approving Karbala as a Cultural Capital for Iraq in 2015.”

“It is also scheduled to tackle the project of establishing the electronic security system in the province in order to secure the millions of pilgrims who arrive in the province every year,” Jasim added.

It is worth to mention that the Cabinet, headed by the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, at the beginning of 2012, started to hold its sessions in the provinces rather than Baghdad.

Basra was the first province in which the CoM session was held, followed by each of Kirkuk, Nineveh, and then Dhi Qar respectively.
