Babel to be retroactively included in Petro-Dollar project, says Saad

Babel (IraqiNews.com) Member of the Parliamentary Oil and Energy Committee, Suzan al-Saad, confirmed that “Babel province will be included by the financial allocations of Petro-Dollar law which will be retroactive, starting back from 2007.”

Saad said in a press conference held with Babel Governor, Mohamed al-Masoudi on Wednesday “The inclusion of Babel province in the financial allocations of the Petro-Dollar will be adopted retrospectively starting from 2007 by a million dollar per month after issuance of final approvals by the Supreme Audit Office.”

“The resolution of covering Babel with Petro-Dollar project was based on discovering an oil site in northern Musayib district that produces 40,000 barrel per day,” she added.

For his part, Masoudi assured that “These financial allocations if approved will contribute in implementing many projects especially the infrastructure projects and rehabilitating the public facilities in the various sectors.”
