Housing crisis, main reason behind electricity crisis, Saad says

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The member within the Parliamentary Oil and Energy Committee, Suzan al-Saad, assured that “The long-lasting housing crisis in the country is the main reason for continuity of the electric power crisis.”

Saad stated “The housing problem forced many citizens to trespass on the State’s lands and build random houses that resulted in increasing the consumption of power through violating the electric lines.”

She demanded “The MoE to adopt appropriate and well-considered plans to fix this problem by providing the transgressions areas with electricity transformers similar to the other residential districts.”

Saad called the Government to solve the housing crisis as being key element in addressing the transgressions on the power lines.
