Minorities’ representatives bear elections bill responsibility – MP

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Shabaki lawmaker Haneen Qado on Saturday said that representatives of some minorities bear the responsibility for enacting the provincial elections bill in its current form, explaining that the Presidential Board had no option but to ratify the legislation as it is. “Those representatives did no more than demand a high level of seats,” Qado told IraqiNews.com. “Voting down the law by presidency council was to mean that there would be no elections by the end of upcoming January,” he said.
