Gulf countries can contribute to Iraq’s stability – UN inspector

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The United Nations’ (UN) arms inspector, the Swedish Hans Blix, on Saturday said that he hopes Persian Gulf countries would contribute to Iraq’s stability in case of any U.S. withdrawal from that country. “The majority of Iraqis want U.S. forces to withdraw, even if this would mean leaving their country to its own methods,” Blix told the Deutche Welle radio station. “Strong cooperation with other Gulf countries is important, because they can contribute to Iraq’s stability,” he said. “This is the biggest hope I have with respect to this region,” he added.
