Mosul University offers Diploma in Human Rights

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research started the Higher Diploma study in Human Rights at the College of Law at the University of Mosul.

A statement by the Ministry received by Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) quoted the Director Media department within the Ministry, Qasim Mohammed Jabbar, as saying that “The ministry introduced the study of the Higher Diploma in the College of Law at Mosul University after obtaining the approval of the Minister of Education to open a branch of human rights, which is the first of its kind in Iraqi universities.”

Jabbar said that “The college plans to accept 41 students in the branch of human rights at the during the academic year 2012-2013 as a first stage which gives the students a Higher Diploma in Human Rights to meet the needs of departments and institutions dealing with human rights,” noting that “The study at the College will witness applying modern universally methods in the application of human rights standards.”
