A statement by Hamoudi’s office received by IraqiNews.com cited “Hamoudi, while receiving the non-resident Canadian Ambassador to Iraq, called to expedite inaugurating the Canadian embassy in Baghdad to support its positive stances towards the new Iraqi experiment and to pave the way for the Canadian companies to invest in the oil field in Iraq.”

Fro his part, the Canadian Ambassador “Announced that the Canadian Foreign Minister will visit Iraq to discuss the inauguration of the Canadian embassy in Baghdad.”

“During the meeting which was attended by the Political Advisor of Canada, Hamoudi discussed the latest political updates in Iraq and the region where the Canadian officials questioned about the Iraqi stance over Syria, indicating the importance of Iraq in settling the Syrian crisis,” the statement added.

“Hamoudi assured that the sides, such as Turkey, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, that opposed the Iraqi stance over Syria, are convinced with the Iraqi stance over not involving military actions in Syria, stating that Iraq ensures the right of fate-determination for the Syrian people” the statement concluded.
