MP slams calls to establish federalism in Basra

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: MP from the independent Arab bloc Abd Mutlaq al-Juburi on Thursday criticized calls to establish federalism in Basra, asserting that such calls have electoral aims. “I do not support tearing down Iraq and turning it into provinces and federals,” al-Juburi told IraqiNews.com. He underlined that such calls to establish the federalism in Basra have ‘electoral purposes’. “The Iraqi people will rejects these federals and we in the Arab bloc will refuse any attempt to divide Iraq,” he said.
