15 daily hours of power by mid next year – PM

Wassit-Bridge BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Premier Nouri al-Maliki on Thursday said that the mid part of next year would witness an increase in power production, to reach 3,000 to 4,000 Megawatts, to provide electricity for 15 hours of daily duration, according to a release issued by al-Maliki’s office. “Contracts were also signed with big international companies to gain 12,000 Megawatts,” said the release that was received by IraqiNews.com. “The Council of Ministers believes that Electricity Ministry’s performance has been exceptional, and the cabinet will work to provide all the ministry’s needs,” the release quoted al-Maliki.
