IS accuses local government in Kirkuk of targeting Arab community

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Abdul Allah Gharb, of the Iraqiya Slate accused the local government of Kirkuk province of targeting the Arab community in the province by destroying their houses.

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he stated “According to the information that we have received that the houses resided by the Arab community are being destroyed in al-Uroba quarter of Kirkuk province under the justification that they are no citizens of Kirkuk province where this is illegal and the parliament approved that these house are for those citizens in 2009, but unfortunately this decision is ignored by the local government represented by the Kurdish and Turkmen communities.”

“The destruction process did not happen even in Palestine by the Israeli soldiers, where the internal situation in Kirkuk is dangerous due to the bad performance of the local government and the governor of Kirkuk who work to satisfy the other communities and neglect the Arab one,” he added.

He described the representation of the Arab community in Kirkuk local government as “Weak and can not face the decisions of Kirkuk Provincial Council because it has seven seats out of 26 for the Kurdish community.”
