Maliki, Nijaifi agree upon settling issue of nominating MoD

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, and the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, agreed upon settling the issue of nominating the Minister of Defense.”

A statement by Maliki’s office received by IraqiNews.com cited “Maliki received Nijaifi at his office in Baghdad on Wednesday,” noting that “They exchanged the views over the internal issues and the regional situation.”

“Both sides stressed the importance of the coordination between the legislative and the executive authorities to speed up the construction process,” the statement added.

“They also confirmed the necessity of keeping on Iraq’s policy in establishing good relations with all countries especially the neighboring countries,” the statement added.

“They emphasized resorting to the constitution to settle the internal disputes and to adopt the dialogue to solve the problems as they agreed upon presenting the candidates to assume the MoD post soon the PC to take the required stance,” the statement concluded.
