Najaf (IraqiNews.com) The Citizen Bloc, within the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, withdrew from the session of Najaf Provincial Council of Wednesday to protest the accusation of a member of Ahrar Bloc within the Sadr Trend for the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council of defusing projects in Najaf province.

Member of the Citizen bloc, Khalid al-Jashami, stated to IraqiNews.com on Wednesday “We withdraw from Najaf PC’s session of Wednesday to protest the accusation of the Ahrar Bloc’s member, Jawad al-Karawi, for the SIIC during the session of delaying the performance of the International Najaf Airport.”

“Karawi’s insult came due to the SIIC’s objection on the offer of the Fourth Dimension and Copper Gates which are willing to invest in the Airport because they do not have competition from other companies besides being not specialized in running airports,” he added, noting that “The Citizen bloc also demanded to divide the revenues of the airport as 35% for the province while 65 goes for the two companies and the revenues should be spent on limited projects in the province.”

Jashami assured “The Citizen bloc demanded the Provincial Council to take a decisive resolution to suit the insult of the Ahrar bloc’s member Karawi for the SIIC and also demanded the Ahrar bloc to announce its stance official towards these accusations besides drafting a detailed report to the leader of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr to explain repeated violations of Karawi.”

“The Citizen bloc will suspend the Najaf PC session of Wednesday to protest Karawi’s violation,” he confirmed.

Najaf PC has voted to refer Investing Najaf International Airport for the Copper Gates Company during its session of last June, 27.
