Riots erupt in Tasfirat prison in Salah-il-Din

Salah-il-Din, Tikrit (IraqiNews.com) The riots erupted in a prison in Salah-il-Din province.

Security source stated to IraqiNews.com on Tuesday that ”The riots started by prisoners in Tasfirat prison and the joint crimes prison,” noting that “The security forces which are responsible of providing protection for these two prisons are trying to control the situation in the prisons and end the riots.”

The source added “The reasons which pushed the prisoners to start the riots are unidentified yet.”

Several prisons witnessed hunger strike and riots recently protesting delay of endorsing the general amnesty law by the Cabinet.
