PM stops legal proceedings against Sahwa fighters
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com : The Iraqi Premier Nouri al-Maliki on Sunday ordered to stop legal proceedings against some Sahwa (Awakening) fighters, said the official spokesperson of the committee responsible for executing and following up national reconciliation. “This order requires that any of those embraced by it are not wanted for the Iraqi judiciary for committing crimes on personal basis,” General Modher al-Mola said in a press conference in Baghdad. “This order honors those fighters for participating in the operation of Fardh al-Qanoon (Law Imposing) that has been taking place throughout the country,” he added.
