Iraq’s cabinet allocates $3 billion to implement Baghdad’s metro

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Baghdad’s Secretary General Saber al-Eissawi on Monday said that the cabinet has agreed to allocate $3 billion to implement Baghdad’s metro project, according to the secretariat’s statement. “The secretariat has invited all global companies specialized in metro field to present their offers to implement the project, which will be the first of its kind in the region,” Al-Eissawi told IraqiNews.com. “The first track will be 18 km and will have 20 stations which will start from the end of the Sadr City until al-Khelani square and al-Wathba square,” he added. “The second track will be 21 km with 21 stations from al-Fath square until al-Bayaa region,” the statement added.
