Parliament’s speakership “violates law” – Sadrist MP

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Lawmaker Nassar al-Robaee of the Sadr parliamentary bloc on Monday accused Iraqi council of representative’s speakership of practicing “law violations,” by including the Iraqi-U.S. frame strategic pact in the parliament’s schedule, but not the security pact. “Lawmakers have not been informed about the pact,” Al-Robaee said in a press conference. “There is no law to form agreements and treaties,” he added. “Some legislatures have a conspiracy to pass the pact,” he explained. “We will employ political, diplomatic and legal methods to curb signing the pact,” he noted. “The pact is on the contrary of Iraqi people interests, and represents a way to steal the country’s treasuries,” he asserted. Al-Robaee demanded that Iraqi parliament’s discussions over the pact should be TV covered, so that Iraqis can have a better idea about the agreement. MH (P)/SR 1
