Diyala Operations Commander describes terrorism in Diyala as “complex”
Diyala (IraqiNews.com) The Commander of Tigris Operations, General Abdul Amir al-Zaydi described terrorism in Diyala province as “complex,” revealing that “The intelligence department lacks tools and mechanisms.”
In a press conference held At the Command Headquarter attended by IraqiNews.com’s reporter, General Zaydi said Saturday “Terrorism in Diyala province is different since it is a partner in the political and security process but at the same time creates security troubles through terrorist activities.”
“The intelligence department lacks a lot of tools and mechanisms,” he added, noting that “We also suffer from delay of settling terrorists’ cases by the judges.”
He stressed that “Some judges live at places considered as shelters for terrorists which will make it difficult for the judge to sue a terrorist who resides with him at the same area.”
The press conference was held after the meeting held for the security leaders in the province with a parliamentary delegation headed by MP Hakim al-Zamili at the Tigris Operations Command on Saturday.
