Nineveh prepares for Eradicating illiteracy campaign

Nineveh, Mosul (IraqiNews.com) The Governorate of Nineveh held the first meeting to discuss the preparations to launch the campaign to eliminating illiteracy in Mosul on Saturday.

The Director General of Eradication of Illiteracy Department in Iraq, Dawood Suleiman stated that ”During the meeting, we discussed with the Governor of Nineveh Atheel al-Nijaifi and the Director General of Nineveh Education Department the preparations and the necessary steps to launch the campaign of eliminating illiteracy which was endorsed by the Cabinet according to the Law (23) of 2011.”

Suleiman stressed ”The importance of providing all the requirements to ensure success of this campaign by taking advantage of material and moral support which is provided by the Ministry of Education so the teachers of the eliminating illiteracy schools can perform their duty successfully.”

Suleiman pointed out that ”The Ministry of Education launched a statement in which it identified that the illiterate is the person who completed 15 years and still can not read and write.”
