Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Khalid al-Alwani of the Iraqiya Slate criticized the stance of the government over offending the Prophet, Mohamed (PBUH), describing it as “Not as required.”

In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com on Monday , he said “Those who support this project hate Islam that calls for love and peace among the divine religions.”

“The official stance of the government lacks power and clarity,” he added, calling “The government to send a condemnation letter to the USA over showing the offending movie.”

“The government has to organize huge demonstrations to denounce showing the offensive movie such as the case in Egypt and Sudan, since the officials in Iraq are of Islamic backgrounds,” he concluded.
