Iraq seeks to manufacture cars in near future

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The General Company for Cars Industry within the Ministry of Industry and Minerals concluded contracts with famous global companies such as the US General Motor Company, S. Korean Hyundai Co., French Reno Co., and Malaysian Proton Co.

A statement by the MoIM quoted the Director General of the Company, Adnan Ahmed Razeen, as saying “After the success achieved by the General Company in the producing of composed cars of Iranian and Chinese parts, it headed towards concluding new contracts with large international companies for manufacturing cars which have refused earlier to meet the calls made by the Company due to the unstable security situation in Iraq.”

He added that “The clear progress in the performance of the Company encouraged it to seek to manufacture the cars instead of composing them in future.”
