Road map set out for Sadr City reconstruction

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A road map has been set out for the reconstruction of Baghdad’s Sadr City and referred to the Iraqi cabinet for approval, Baghdad’s Mayor Sabir al-Issawi said on Sunday. A total of $10 billion has been allocated for a 10-year-plan that was approved by the cabinet and Baghdad’s municipal council, a statement received by IraqiNews.com quoted Issawi as saying The mayor expressed his hope of turning the Sadr City, which he said is home to nearly 3 million people, into a modern city.
