Symbolic funeral for Martyr Sadr conducted in Najaf

Najaf (IraqiNews.com) The ceremony of commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of the late Religious Authority, Mohamed Mohamed Sadiq al-Sadr, started in Najaf province, on Friday morning.

IraqiNews.com correspondent reported that “The ceremony started by conducting a symbolic funeral for the late Sadr in Najaf which set out from Zahra mosque.”

“The funeral ceremony witnessed participation of a number of officials in the province, as well as mass of citizens and tribal leaders,” he added.

The late Martyr Sadr is the farther of the leader of Sadr Trend, Moqtada al-Sadr. He was assassinated in 1999 by the security forces of the former regime.
