Parliament holds ceremony to commemorate martyrdom anniversary of Martyr Sadr

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) A number of leaders of the Iraqi political blocs met in a ceremony to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of the Martyr Mohamed Mohamed Sadiq al-Sadr held at the Parliament building on Wednesday.

A reliable source told Iraqi News agency on Wednesday “A number of leaders of the political blocs among them the Head of the Supreme Iraq Islamic Council Ammar al-Hakim, the Premier Nouri al-Maliki, and the Parliament Speaker Osama al-Nujaifi, attended a ceremony to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of the Martyr Sadr held by the Ahrar bloc within the Sadr Trend at the Parliament headquarter.”

Martyr Sadr is the father of Muqtada al-Sadr, the leader of the Sadr Trend.

Martyr Sadr was assassinated in 1999 by the hands of the security forces of the Iraqi former regime.
