Urgent – Hakim launches initiative childhood welfare

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, released an Initiative for Childhood Welfare in Iraq, represented by setting up a fund for childhood.

Hakim said during the second childhood annual festival organized by Shahid al-Mihrab Institution in Najaf province on Saturday “Based on our care about child and childhood we declare releasing an initiative that involve setting up a child fund for take care of children in Iraq and includes several topics such as allocation of 1.5% of the financial budget of the State to this fund.”

He added “The initiative also includes establishment of a supreme council for Iraqi childhood as an independent body to manage the fund.”
