Woman Parliamentary Committee demands to endorse Pupils’ Grant law draft

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Nisrin Anwar Rashid, of the Woman Parliamentary Committee demanded the parliament and the government to endorse the law draft of Pupils’ Grant and execute it.

She stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “The childhood in Iraq is suffering where there are many children working in the streets to support their families and others live in unstable residences such as the garbage places.”

“It is the duty of the parliament and the government to take care of the children by endorsing the law draft of the Pupils’ Grant that supports them in addition to include the schools with the School Nutrition Program and preventing the children from working in the streets,” she added.

She called “the Civil Society Organizations to perform their tasks by making the families aware of the importance of sending their children to the schools and preventing them from working in the streets.”

Earlier, the head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, released an Initiative for Childhood Welfare in Iraq, represented by setting up a fund for childhood.
