Sadr Trend delegation refrains from attending J&DP conference in Turkey

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The delegation of the Sadr Trend abstained from attending the conference of parties in Turkey because of the presence of the fugitive Iraqi Vice-President, Tariq al-Hashimi in the conference.

The head of Ahrar Bloc within the Sadr Trend, Baha al-Araji, said in a statement, received by Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) Saturday “The delegation which is representing the Sadr Trend comprised Mustafa al-Yaqoubi and Ahmed al-Sadr,” noting that “The delegation remained at the hotel and abstained of attending the conference after realizing the existence and participation of the fugitive, Tariq al-Hashimi, in the conference.”

He added that “The objection of the Sadr Trend came because Tariq al-Hashimi is wanted for the Iraqi Judiciary and therefore his presence with our presence is underestimation of the Iraqi judiciary and we consider the Iraqi judiciary as a red line not to be violated.”
