Citizen bloc nominates 3 candidates for Baghdad Mayor’s Post
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Abdul Hussein Abtan, of the Citizen bloc revealed that “The Citizen bloc submitted names of three candidates to the Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki to occupy the Post of Baghdad Mayor.”
Abtan stated to IraqiNews.com on Tuesday “The Post of Baghdad Mayor is reserved for the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council where it is supposed to be occupied by a candidate from the Citizen Bloc.”
Baghdad Mayoralty has announced on the 26th of Sept commissioning the Mayoralty Secretary for the Administrative Affairs, Abdul Hussein Naser al-Murshidi, to assume Baghdad Acting Mayor position to succeed the former Mayor, Saber al-Esawi, who has resigned earlier.
