Zibari heads Ministerial Meeting of Arab, South American Countries Summit of ASPA

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Foreign Minister, Hoshyar Zebari, chaired the meetings of Arab foreign ministers and the countries of South America in Lima, capital of the Republic of Peru on the 1st of October to read the final drafting of “Lima Declaration” to submit it to the third summit of Arab and South American countries A Culture of Peace, Social Inclusion and Development (ASPA).

A press statement by the Foreign Ministry cited “Zebari as the head of the session praised the efforts of the Republic of Peru in preparing and arranging this summit, and the efforts made by Iraq to hold the three meetings of the Council of senior officials of Ministries of Foreign Affairs of both groups to reach the final draft of the summit declaration, stating that Iraq will chair the summit for the next three years.”

“The ministerial was managed successfully and effectively in addressing controversial issues through expert meetings and accepted the final version (Lima Declaration) and added new proposals from member states to the declaration,” the statement added.

The statement pointed out “The Foreign Minister of Peru, Rafael Ronka Gleguelo, held a luncheon in honor of the foreign ministers and heads of delegations of Arab States at the Palace of Culture in Lima.”

“Zebari gave the word of the Arab group where he praised the hosting and organizing of Peru for this session, and pointed to the diverse areas of political, economical, cultural and diplomatic cooperation between the two regions,” the statement concluded.

The Arab – South American summit is scheduled to begin on the morning of Tuesday the 2nd of October
