Iraq’s soccer team wins Norway tournament
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s soccer squad won the Norway four-team tournament after defeating Syria 1/0. Iraq’s winner was scored by Hawwar al-Mulla Mohammed in the game played in the Jordanian city of al-Zarqaa, capping the tournament in which four teams – Iraq, Jordan, Syria and Norway – participated. The tournament was organized by the Norwegian football federation in association with Jordan’s. Iraq collected seven points to come on top, followed by Jordan with five points, Norway four points and Syria with nothing after it was defeated in its three matches. Iraq’s first game in the tournament with Norway ended in a goalless tie. In its second encounter, the Iraqi soccer players defeated Jordan 2/0 and then Jordan 1/0. AmR (P) 1
