Deputy PM opens investment conf. in Jordan

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Deputy Premier Rafie al-Issawi on Sunday inaugurated the first international conference on investment in the electricity sector in the Dead Sea area in Jordan. “The meeting is part of the Iraqi Electricity Ministry’s activities and the government’s efforts to boost Iraq’s energy sector,” Issawi was quoted by a statement from his media office as received by IraqiNews.com. He said that the conference aims to encourage international corporations to invest in Iraq and to build mega power stations to bridge the electricity gap in Baghdad and other provinces.
