Tourism Committee: Majority of Iraqi antiques stolen by US

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Parliamentary Tourism and Antiques Committee stressed that “The largest amount of the stolen Iraqi antiques was stolen by the United States of America whether from the museums or during the excavation operations conducted in the north and south of Iraq.”

Deputy Chairman of the Committee, Talal Hussein, stated “The USA has the largest percentage of the stolen Iraqi antiques as being the main force in the occupying allied forces which occupied Iraq in 2003.”

“There are more than 10,000 Iraqi antique pieces kept in the US Cornill University,” Hussein assured.

Earlier, the US Secretary of State has described the accusations over the Iraqi stolen antiques as an insult for the US.
