MP calls to re-activate former law to fight corruption

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Member of the Parliamentary Services and Construction Committee, MP Ihsan al-Awadi criticized the Finance Ministry’s decision to cancel the law proposal of the Engineers’ Financial Allocations which represents a re-activation for the former law (No. 760) for 1976.

Awadi stated to IraqiNews.com on Wednesday “We demanded to re-activate the former law to grant the engineers their financial dues so as to be able to supervise the projects entrusted to them to ensure fair implementation for those projects.”

He added “The cancelation of the earlier mentioned law by the Finance Ministry will encourage the financial and administrative corruption to continue in the State Departments,” noting that “The Government is still unserious in combating the corruption despite its large-scale spread in all the Ministries.”

“The corruption mafias at the Ministries are covered up by some political sides,” he confirmed.
