Qaeda adopts Tasfirat prison attack

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The terrorist organization (Islamic State of Iraq) which belongs to the al-Qaeda Terrorist Organization has adopted the attack which targeted Tasfirat prison in Tikrit city.

According to a press statement issued by the ISI cited ”The operation began by breaking through the security system of the prison and smuggling silenced weapons in addition to hand grenades as wellas explosive vests to the prisoners.”

The statement added ”The prisoners took control on the prison while their terrorist assistants killed the prison guards by detonating a car bomb in front of the prison and closing all the roads which lead to the prison to prevent the support of the police forces.”

The statement continued ”The first phase of the attack, included killing the officers of the prison and seizing their weapons, was successfully accomplished then the offenders destroyed the data base of the prison and burning many important documents.”

The statement pointed out ”The detonation of the car bomb at the gate of the prison facilitated the way for the detainees to seize three vehicles which they used later to kill the prison guards and withdraw to agreed upon locations,” noting that “There are another prisoners escaped by pretending as being policmen.” \
