IS MP survives assassination in western Baghdad

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Ahmed al-Alwani of the Iraqiya Slate survived an assassination attempt due to an Improvised Explosive Device explosion targeted his motorcade in western Baghdad.

A security source told IraqiNews.com on Saturday “An IED was planted near a checkpoint in Abu Gharib district of western Baghdad exploded targeting Alwani’s motorcade resulted in injuring two elements of his bodyguards.”

“A security force rushed to the incident spot and imposed a security cordon around the place, then transported the injured bodyguards to a hospital for treatment,” the source concluded.
