Investment Law of Iraq needs amendment, says MP

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Member of the Parliamentary Economy and Investment Committee, MP Noura al-Bajari stressed that “The investments sector in Iraq faces many obstacles,” noting that the financial and administrative corruption, in addition to the negative role of the Iraqi Ambassadors abroad in promoting the investments, are main hurdles among those obstacles.”

Bajari stated to IraqiNews.com that “The Investment Law needs to be amended to address its defects and impediments.”

She pointed out that “Some Iraqi Ambassadors, who are present in certain countries which want to invest in Iraq, do not give good impression about the situation in Iraq; therefore those investors refrain from launching investments in Iraq.”
